The temperature started getting much hotter, approaching 46°C. With no shade in the middle of the afternoon, so we have to be sure and take breaks and have lots of water.
But this temple was a real highlight in our trip. I visited here over 40 years ago with my dad, and we took donkeys across the cliffs above, but that isn’t allowed anymore because of the number of people in the safety.
We went with our private guide, who, of course sped us through any of the lines and tour buses. It was just magical and a lot to take in, but a major bucket list item for MaryEllen.
Having our own private tour guy was great, because he never ceased to teach us new things about what really went on in the history of this temple. And they’re still digging and I’m covering things as they go.
